All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - accessible for people with walking disabilities and partially accessible for wheelchair users".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are two marked parking spaces for people with disabilities (parking space size: Ernst-Michel-Platz 350 cm x 500 cm; parking space size administrative entrance backside 460 cm x 480 cm).
  • The building is steplessly accessible.
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible or via elevator.
  • The elevator cabin measures 113 cm x 160 cm. 
  • Almost all evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.  
  • The cash desk is at its lowest point 97 cm high. There is another, equivalent communication possibility while in a sitting position.
  • There are no wheelchair accessible tables available in the restaurant/dining room/breakfast room/café … (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).  
  • Guided tours for people with walking impairments and wheelchair users are offered. A reservation in advance is necessary.
  • Mobile or fixed seats are available for people with walking disabilities, which may be used during the guided tour.
  • The entire route of the guided tour is steplessly variable for wheelchair users.

Public toilet for people with disabilities (lower floor)

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the toilet 160 cm x 160 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 160 cm x 130 cm;
    left of the toilet 36 cm x 54 cm and right of the toilet at least 90 cm x 54 cm.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rail on the right of the toilet can be flipped-up.
  • The sink has access.
  • The mirror is visible while sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is available.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed.
  • The entrance is visually rich in contrast.
  • All evaluated and usable areas for the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free. 
  • There are no visually contrasting or tactilely detectable floor indicators available.
  • The signage is not designed in clearly legible and contrasting font.
  • There are glass doors without safety markings.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly. The break position is not announced by spoken commands. The operating controls are visually rich in contrast and tactilely detectable.
  • Alternatively stairs are available.
  • At least at the first and last step, stairs have visually contrasting edges.
  • Stairs have handrails on both sides.
  • The menu font in the restaurant is straightforward and visually rich in contrast.
  • There is no menu available in large print or braille.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with visual impairments, but not for blind people. A reservation in advance is necessary.
  • An audio guide is available which can be operated independently by people with visual impairments / blind people.
  • Offered aids: reading aids (reading glasses, magnifying glasses, etc.)

  • There is no clearly visible alarm.
  • There is an inductive hearing system in the main hall as standard and can be used throughout the building by arrangement (wireless connection).
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly.
  • Alternatively stairs are available.
  • In the restaurant there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact.
  • There is a seating area with low background noises (e.g. corner seating, separate room). 
  • Guided tours are offered for people with hearing impairment, but not for deaf people. A reservation in advance is necessary.

  • Name and logo of the company are clearly visible from the outside.
  • The objectives of the paths are always within sight or signs in visible distance are available.
  • There is no information available in easy language.
  • The dishes are visibly presented (buffet, bar).
  • Guided tours for people with cognitive impairments are offered on request. A reservation in advance is necessary.
  • The guided tour for people with cognitive impairments is given using easy language.
  • Information is not displayed with pictograms or images.
