Description

The Altmühlsee Information Center offers guests and locals a variety of options for a pleasant stay in Muhr a. See, in addition to the tourist information center with barrier-free access, the open-air stage and the LBV environmental station.

Muhr a.See is a community situated on the northern shore of the Altmühlsee. A state-approved recreation and festival location of the widely known Altmühlsee Festival and popular vacation spot.Located between the Altmühl and the Mönchswald, Muhr a.See offers its guests over 120 km of marked biking and hiking trails. The Landesbund für Vogelschutz invites you to natural history tours of the Vogelinsel. The observation tower on the bird island in the Altmühlsee is accessible. A boat trip on the MS Altmühlsee with handicapped access has a family flair.

  • There is a parking space for people with disabilities (space size: 330 cm x 440 cm). The parking space is 23 m from the entrance.
  • The entrance/access to the building is step-free (max. 2 cm threshold, if necessary via a ramp).
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used and raised for the guest are accessible without steps. Door thresholds are max. 2 cm high. 
  • Passages and doors are at least 89 cm wide. 
  • The information desk is 108 cm high at the lowest point. There is another, equivalent means of communication available in a seated position.

Public toilet for people with disabilities

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the washbasin 150 cm x 150 cm;
    in front of the toilet 150 cm x 150 cm;
    to the left of the toilet 63 cm x 57 cm;
    to the right of the toilet 93 cm x 76 cm.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
  • Both grab rails can be flipped-up. 
  • The washbasin is accessible from underneath at a height of 67 cm and a depth of at least 30 cm.
  • The mirror can be viewed while sitting or standing.
  • There is a cord as an alarm trigger.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed in relevant areas/rooms.
  • Outdoor paths do not have visually contrasting or tactilely detectable sidewalk boundaries.
