Description

The Alpwelt is located in the heart of Oberstdorf at the Kurpark. Each of the five flats is furnished to a high standard, with great attention to detail, wooden parquet flooring and underfloor heating.  In addition, there is an underground car park, a lift and an in-house sauna. Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • The Oberstdorf train station is approx. 600 m from the house.
  • There are two parking spaces for people with disabilities in the underground car park (space size: 350 cm x 500 cm). 
  • The entrance/access to the building is step-free (max. 2 cm threshold).
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used and raised for the guest are accessible at ground level or via a lift. 
  • The lift cabin is 105 cm x 138 cm. The lift door is 89 cm wide.
  • Passages and doors are at least 81 cm wide (exception: sauna door is 65 cm wide).
  • The following aids are provided: Wheelchair
  • There are five apartments designed for people with disabilities. There are two further apartments on the 1st floor: Apartment "Traufbergalpe" corresponds in floor plan and equipment to the apartment "Gaisalpe", apartment "Dietersbachalpe" corresponds in floor plan and equipment to the apartment "Buchraineralpe".

 Apartment 330 "Gaisalpe" (two bedrooms, ground floor)

  • Passages and doors are at least 81 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces in bedroom 1 (double room) are:
    in front of essential furnishings (e.g. cupboards) 120 cm x 200 cm;
    to the left of the bed 120 cm x 155 cm;
    to the right of the bed 103 cm x 155 cm.
  • The bed is 63 cm high.
  • The manoeuvring spaces in bedroom 2 (double room) are:
    in front of essential furnishings (e.g. wardrobes) 115 cm x 150 cm;
    to the left of the bed 109 cm x 198 cm;
    to the right of the bed 150 cm x 198 cm.
  • The bed is 63 cm high.
  • The (dining) table in the kitchen-cum-living room is 67 cm high and 30 cm deep and can be moved underneath. 
  • The manoeuvring spaces in the bathroom are:
    200 cm x 133 cm in front of the washbasin;
    in front of the toilet 135 cm x 178 cm;
    to the left of the toilet 23 cm x 54 cm;
    to the right of the toilet 77 cm x 54 cm.
  • The sink has limited access. 
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds. 
  •  The manoeuvring space in the shower is 94 cm x 150 cm. 
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if required (permanently installed, foldable, hook-in or mobile and stable).
  • A separate, second toilet is available. This is not designed for people with disabilities (very small manoeuvring spaces, no grab rails, etc.). 

Apartment 340 "Buchraineralpe" (two bedrooms, ground floor)

  • Passages and Doors are at least 81 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces in bedroom 1 (double room) are:
    in front of essential furnishings (e.g. cupboards) 120 cm x 200 cm;
    to the left of the bed 68 cm x 165 cm;
    to the right of the bed 131 cm x 152 cm.The bed is 63 cm high.
  • The manoeuvring spaces in bedroom 2 (double room) are:
    in front of essential furnishings (e.g. wardrobes) 115 cm x 150 cm;
    to the left of the bed 150 cm x 198 cm;
    to the right of the bed 90 cm x 198 cm.
  • The bed is 63 cm high.
  • The (dining) table in the kitchen-cum-living room is 67 cm high and 30 cm deep and can be moved underneath. 
  • The manoeuvring spaces in the bathroom are:
    200 cm x 133 cm in front of the washbasin;

    to the left of the toilet 77 cm x 54 cm;

  • The bed is 64 cm high.
  • The manoeuvring spaces in bedroom 2 (double room) are:
    in front of essential furnishings (e.g. wardrobes) 140 cm x 105 cm;
    to the left of the bed 105 cm x 197 cm;
    to the right of the bed 200 cm x 197 cm.
    The bed is 64 cm high.
  • The (dining) table in the kitchen-cum-living room is 67 cm high and 30 cm deep and can be moved underneath. 
  • The manoeuvring spaces in bathroom 1 are:
    150 cm x 161 cm in front of the washbasin;
    in front of the WC 161 cm x 150 cm;
    to the left of the WC 92 cm x 54 cm;
    to the right of the WC 23 cm x 54 cm.
  • The sink has limited access. 
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds. 
  • The manoeuvring space in the shower is 85 cm x 85 cm.  
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if required (permanently installed, foldable, hook-in or mobile and stable).
  • The manoeuvring spaces in bathroom 2 are:
    in front of the washbasin 133 cm x 148 cm;
    in front of the WC 148 cm x 133 cm;

Sauna in the basement

  • Doors are at least 65 cm wide.
  • The area in front of the lowest sauna bench is 83 cm wide and 55 cm deep.
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds. 
  • The manoeuvring space in the shower is 115 cm x 177 cm.  
  • No shower seat is available or can be provided if required.

  • Assistance dogs allowed (after consultation).
  • The entrance area of the building is recognisable by a tactile change of flooring and visually contrasted with the surroundings. The entrance areas to the holiday flats are recognisable by a tactilely perceptible change of floor covering. 
  • An outgoing emergency call in the lift is confirmed acoustically, e.g. by an intercom system. The operating elements are designed to be visually contrasting and tactilely detectable.
  • Stairs are not visually contrasting. The staircase has a handrail on one side. An elevator can be used instead of the stairs.
  • Other operating elements (e.g. door handles, light switches, emergency call buttons) are tactilely detectable throughout the building/object and are partially designed to be visually contrasting.
  • All raised areas that can be used by the guest (entrance area, cash desk/counter, bedrooms, corridors, hallways) are well lit, i.e. bright and glare-free.
  • There are no visually contrasting or tactile floor indicators.

  • There is no  audio induction loop system.
  • In case of an acoustic alarm (e.g. fire alarm), there is no visually clearly perceptible flashing or blinking signal.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the lift is confirmed acoustically, e.g. by an intercom system.
  • Ringing or knocking on the room door is not indicated by a flashing signal that can be perceived in all rooms.  
  • Ringing or knocking at the room door is not indicated by a flashing signal that can be heard in all rooms.
  • At least one freely available power socket is available near the bed in the single flats.
  • W-LAN is offered.
  • The following aids are offered: Vibration cushion

  • The name or logo of the facility is clearly recognisable from the outside. 
  • A business card with the address and telephone number of the holiday flats is visibly displayed at the reception or in the bedroom.
  • Information for orientation is not continuously available pictorially (pictograms, photo-realistic representation).
