All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - accessible for people with walking disabilities". 

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report. 

  • There is a parking space for people with disabilities (parking space size 350 cm x 500 cm).
  • The path outdoors in front of the elevator (outdoor entrance) is not easy to walk and drive on.
  • Access to the building is stepless via the elevator.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by the guest are steplessly accessible or can be reached with an elevator.
  • The elevator has a cab size of 110 cm x 140 cm. The controls are not located on a horizontal control panel.
  • The counter is 114 cm high. There is an equivalent communication possibility while sitting.
  • Doors and passageways are at least 90 cm wide (exception: exhibition area "Living and Working in the Countryside" in the attic)
  • In most exhibition rooms there are manoeuvring spaces of 150 cm x 150 cm.
  • The exhibits are predominantly visible, perceptible and recognizable while sitting.
  • The information on the exhibits is also predominantly legible while sitting.
  • Museum stools (can also be used as walking aids) are offered.

Toilet for people with disabilities (gound floor)

  • The manoeuvring space left of the toilet is 93 cm x 53 cm, right 25 cm x 53 cm.
  • There are handles on both sides, the one on the left be folded up.
  • The manoeuvring space in front of the toilet is 165 cm x 119 cm, in front of the washbasin 122 cm x 122 cm.
  • The washbasin is not accessible by wheelchair.
  • The mirror above the washbasin can be seen while standing or sitting.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed.
  • There is no information in Braille or prismatic writing.
  • There is no guidance system with ground indicators indoors and outdoors. In the indoor area, the walls can be used as orientation guidelines to a limited extent only.
  • In elevators (alternative: stairs), the stopping position is announced by speech.
  • Staircases are not continuously visually rich in contrast or tactilely detectable.
  • An audio guide is available.
  • The exhibits mainly contrast with their surroundings and are well illuminated.
  • The information on the exhibits is mainly visually rich in contrast.

  • There is no clearly visually perceptible alarm (e.g. fire alarm).
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator (alternative: stairs) is confirmed audibly, but not visibly.
  • There is no audio induction loop.
  • The information on the exhibits is predominantly provided in written form.

  • The name and logo of the company are clearly recognizable from the outside.
  • The checkout counter is directly visible from the entrance.
  • There is no uninterrupted colored or pictorial guidance system.
  • There is no information in easy language.
