All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities  and partially accessible for wheelchair users ".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There is one marked parking space for people with disabilities (parking space size: 350 cm x 500 cm).
  • The path from the parking lot to the 2nd entrance with the elevator is 2 m long.
  • The bus stop „Am Kriegerdenkmal“ is 250 m away.
  • The building is infinitely accessible via
  • the main entrance with a ramp and via the side entrance with an elevator.
  • The ramp has a maximum gradient of 3 % and a total length of 6 m.
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible at ground level or via an elevator.
  • Glass elevator at the side entrance: The elevator cabin measures 119 cm x 216 cm. The elevator door is 100 cm wide.
  • Second elevator in the main building: The elevator cabin measures 110 cm x 140 cm. The elevator door is 90 cm wide.
  • Almost all evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
  • Exception: The batdroom door in the room 109 is 87 cm wide.
  • The reception desk is at its lowest point 85 cm high.
  • External paths are at least 129 m wide, in most cases not easy to walk on and drive on and have a maximum longitudinal gradient of up to 3,5 %.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables available in the restaurant (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).

Room 109 (double room, upper floor)

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of essential stationary furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
    left and right of the bed 72 cm x 200 cm.
  • The bed is 56 cm high.
  • A nursing bed is not available.
  • The manoeuvring spaces in the bathroom are:
    in front of/behind the door, in front of the toilet and in front of the washbasin at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
    left of the toilet at least 90 cm x 70 cm and right of the toilet 29 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
  • The sink has limited access.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds.
  • The manoeuvring space in the shower is 147 cm x 142 cm.
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
  • There are grab rails available in the shower.
  • An alarm trigger is available.

Public toilet for people with disabilities – for women (upper floor)

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of/behind the door 118 cm x 150 cm;
    in front of the toilet and in front of the washbasin at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 145 cm x 200 cm;
    left of the toilet 100 cm x 55 cm and right of the toilet 32 cm x 55 cm.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is available.

Public toilet for people with disabilities – for men (upper floor)

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of/behind the door 150 cm x 150 cm;
    in front of the toilet 133 cm x 223 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 120 cm x 200 cm;
    left of the toilet 33 cm x 55 cm and right of the toilet 88 cm x 55 cm.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is available.

Studio building

  • The outside path to studio building 1 is not easy to walk and drive on and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 3,5 % over a distance of 71 m.
  • The elevator cabin measures 140 cm x 145 cm. The elevator door is 90 cm wide.
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible at ground level or via an elevator.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed in relevant areas/rooms.
  • External paths usually have visually contrasting and tactilely detectable sidewalk boundaries.
  • The entrance is visually rich in contrast and recognizable by a tactile change of floor covering.
  • All evaluated and usable areas for the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free.
  • There are no visually contrasting or tactilely detectable floor indicators available.
  • The signage is designed in clearly legible and contrasting font.
  • There are glass doors without safety markings.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevators is confirmed audibly.
  • Glass elevator at the side entrance and second elevator in the main building: The break position is announced by spoken commands. The operating controls are visually rich in contrast and tactilely detectable.
  • Elevator in the studio building: The break position is not announced by spoken commands. The operating controls are visually rich in contrast and tactilely detectable.
  • Alternatively stairs are available.
  • Stairs in the studio building are not visually contrasting and have at least one handrail on one side.
  • Information is not available in Braille or prismatic font.

  • There is no clearly visible alarm.
  • There is no audio induction loop system.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly.
  • In the restaurant there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact.
  • There is a seating area with low background noises (e.g. corner seating, separate room).

Room 109 (double room)

  • There is at least one electrical outlet available near the bed.
  • The ringing or knocking on the door is not indicated by a flashing signal which can be detected in all rooms.
  • W-LAN is offered.
