Hartenstein Youth Hostel

Description

The youth hostel is located in Hartenstein in the Nürnberger Land region. The hostel is characterised by its quiet and adventurous location. Ideal for relaxing in nature or hiking through the forests. Climbing enthusiasts, cave explorers as well as nature and history lovers will feel very much at home here. 

The house has 64 beds in 18 rooms (single to six-bed rooms), three group rooms, one of which can be used as a craft room, and a dining room. You can use your free time to play tennis on the three tennis courts, football on the football pitch or chess in the open air. There is also a sledge hire service and the possibility of barbecuing at the barbecue area.

  • All rooms and facilities usable and raised for the guest are accessible only by stairs. 
  • 'Existing passageways are at least 78 cm wide.
  • Doors are at least 56 cm wide. 
  • There are two designated parking spaces for people with disabilities.  
  • The counter is 77 cm high at the lowest point. 
  • There is another equivalent means of communication while seated.
  • There are 8 accessible tables (maximum height 80 cm, accessible at a height of 67 cm with a depth of 30 cm). 
  • There is no toilet for people with disabilities. 

Room 15:

  • The room is a room type: shared room.
  • The movement areas are: in front of essential furnishings (e.g. cupboards) 200 cm x 140 cm; to the left of the bed 140 cm x 200 cm; to the right of the bed 140 cm x 200 cm.
  • The bed is 46 cm high.

Room 16:

  • The room is a room type: shared room.
  • The movement areas are: in front of essential furnishings (e.g. cupboards) 200 cm x 145 cm; to the left of the bed 110 cm x 200 cm; to the right of the bed 110 cm x 200 cm.
  • The bed is 48 cm high.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed.
  • The main entrance is not visually contrasted to the surroundings, but can be recognized by a tactile change of floor covering.
  • The first and last step of the stairs into the basement and into the rooms/public toilet has a visually contrasting edge with the horizontal and vertical step surface.
  • All evaluated areas usable by the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free.
  • The paths in corridors are predominantly marked with tactile markings or the walls can be used as orientation aids.
  • Glass doors are not marked with safety markings.
  • There are no obstacles, e.g. objects protruding into the path/room.
  • There is no uninterrupted guidance system (e.g. floor indicators) in indoor and outdoor areas.

  • There is an visibly perceptible alarm at the outdoor area.
  • There is no audio induction loop.
  • In the dining room there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that restrict the field of vision. There are no seating areas with low background noises.
  • In the evaluated room 16, there is a freely available electrical outlet near the bed, but not in room 15.
  • The ringing or knocking on the room door is not indicated by a flashing signal.

  • The name and logo of the establishment are not clearly visible from the outside at the main entrance.
  • Business cards/brochures with the address and telephone number of the host are visibly displayed at the reception desk.
  • There is no information in easy language. Information is not displayed by pictograms or pictures.
  • There is no colored or pictorial guidance system.
  • The destination of the paths are partly within sight or there are path signs at visible distance.
