Description

The Active Center at Hintersee is primarily a guest house for groups with and without disabilities. However, individual guests are also welcome. 

The Active Center at Hintersee has a lot to offer: The rooms have a balcony with a view of the magnificent mountain scenery. The entire house is designed barrier-free. There are 8 rooms incl. bathroom, which are wheelchair accessible, as well as all public areas. The dining room is spacious, doors open automatically and there are 2 elevators in the house, so that every area in the house can be reached stepless. Balconies and terraces invite you to enjoy the sun and the view of Hintersee. Also walks along the lake and in the adjacent national park are partly accessible possible.

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are no marked parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • The bus stop "Hintersee" is 100 m away. 
  • External paths are at least 200 m wide and have a maximum longitudinal gradient of up to 18 %.
  • The building is steplessly accessible. 
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are stepless or accessible via elevators.
  • The elevator cabin new building measures 105 cm x 140 cm. 
  • The elevator cabin old building measures 110 cm x 138 cm. 
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
    Exceptions: The doors to the post room, the hunting room and the farmer's room are 87 cm wide.
  • The reception desk is 73 cm high at its lowest point. There is another, equivalent communication possibility while in a sitting position.
  • There are no wheelchair accessible tables in the dining room (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).

Room 14 (multi-bedroom, new building)

  • The maneuvering spaces are:
    in front of essential immobile furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) 200 cm x 200 cm;
    right of the bed 220 cm x 200 cm; on the left the bed stands next to the wall.
  • The bed is 45 cm high.
  • A nursing bed cannot be provided.
  • The maneuvering spaces in the bathroom are:
    in front of/behind the door, in front of the toilet and the washbasin at least 190 cm x 144 cm;
    left of the toilet 186 cm x 70 cm, no manoeuvring space on the right. 
  • There are handles on the right and left of the toilet. The handle on the left of the toilet can be folded up.
  • The washbasin is wheelchair accessible.
  • The mirror cannot be seen while sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds.
  • The maneuvering space in the shower is 143 cm x 180 cm.
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
  • There are grab handles in the shower.
  • An alarm trigger is not present.

Room 108 (multi-bedroom, main house) 

  • The maneuvering spaces are:
    in front of essential immobile furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) 200 cm x 200 cm;
    right of the bed 110 cm x 200 cm; on the left the bed stands next to the wall.
  • The bed is 43 cm high.
  • A nursing bed cannot be provided.
  • The maneuvering spaces in the bathroom are:
    in front of/behind the door 130 cm x 130 cm;
    in front of the toilet at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 140 cm x 140 cm;
    left of the toilet 140 cm x 54 cm, no manoeuvring space on the right. 
  • There are handles on the right and left of the toilet. The handle on the left of the toilet can be folded up.
  • The washbasin is wheelchair accessible.
  • The mirror cannot be seen while sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds.
  • The maneuvering space in the shower is 125 cm x 125 cm.
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
  • There are handles in the shower.
  • An alarm trigger is not present.

Room 109 (multi-bedroom, ground floor, old building)

  • The maneuvering spaces are:
    in front of essential immobile furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) 200 cm x 200 cm;
    right of the bed 124 cm x 220 cm; on the left is the bed on the wall.
  • The bed is 43 cm high.
  • The maneuvering spaces in the bathroom are:
    in front of/behind the door at least 150 cm x 130 cm;
    in front of the toilet at least 150 cm x 46 cm;
    in front of the washbasin at least 150 cm x 140 cm;
    right of the toilet 130 cm x 54 cm, no manoeuvring space on the left. 
  • There is a grab rail on the right side of the toilet. The grab rail can be flipped-up. 
  • The washbasin has limited wheelchair access.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds.
  • The maneuvering space in the shower is 190 cm x 147 cm.
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
  • There are grab handles in the shower.
  • An alarm trigger is not present.

Public toilet for people with disabilities

  • The door opens inwards, but does not affect the maneuvering space in front of the toilet and washbasin.
  • The maneuvering spaces are:
    in front of/behind the door and in front of the toilet at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 144 cm x 150 cm;
    left and right of the toilet at leaast 90 cm x 69. 
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is available.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed in relevant areas/rooms. Exception: not in the dining room
  • Outdoor paths usually do not have visually contrasting or tactilely detectable sidewalk boundaries.
  • All evaluated areas usable by the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free.
  • There are no visually contrasting or tactilely detectable floor indicators.
  • The signage is designed in clearly legible and contrasting font.
  • There are glass doors without safety markings.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly. The break position is not announced by spoken commands. The operating controls are visually rich in contrast and tactilely detectable.
  • At least at the first and last step, stairs have visually contrasting edges. 
  • Steps are predominately not visually rich in contrast. 
  • Stairs have handrails on both sides.
  • Information is predominately not available in Braille or prismatic writing.

  • There is no clearly visible alarm.
  • There is no audio induction loop.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevators is confirmed audibly.
  • In the restaurant and in the cafeteria there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that restrict the field of vision or eye contact.
  • There is no seating area with low background noises (e.g. seating corner, separate room).
  • There is at least one electrical outlet available near the bed. Exception: not in room 14.
  • WiFi is offered.
